Let's just say that the previous ones were well worth the membership fee!Pickmere Country House is a Georgian grade ll listed building dating back to 1772, originally built as a farmhouse, it was the largest of its kind in Cheshire.Commanding picturesque views over the surrounding countryside the house is situated in the centre of the village of Pickmere and is now a guest house bed and breakfast business.Guests can book the whole house for their exclusive use whether it is for a family gathering to celebrate a birthday/anniversary, a wedding or a retreat/study/golf weekend, murder mystery evening or a corporate team building day.Evening meals are served Mondays to Thursdays and lunches, afternoon teas and dinners by prior arrangement at the weekends.It is fully licensed selling a selection of wines from Tanners Wine Merchants from Shrewsbury and also beers from a local micro brewery, Tatton Ales, Knutsford.
There is off road car parking and bicycles can be housed securely.There are 7 National Trust properties within a 30 minute drive from Pickmere (Tatton Hall being the nearest just 10 minutes away) with many privately owned country houses including Arley Hall and Gardens (5 minute drive) open to the public nearby too.If you wish to visit the great outdoors there is Alderley Edge, Delamere Forest, The Peak District, the Sandstone Trial and Formby with their stunning views and landscapes all within an hours drive. 4 bedrooms are superior doubles with king size beds, 1 superior double/twin with zip and link beds, 1 standard double, 1 family room, 1 twin/double room with zip and link beds in the garden annex (suitable for guests with dogs), a single and a small double which share a bathroom and a single with private bathroom. Breakfast is served between to Monday to Friday and to Saturday and Sunday in our dining room.We offer a full English breakfast with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available together with a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, toast, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The guest lounge has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a small library, a piano, children’s toys, card and board games and a gas burning log fire.We also cater for small business meetings, afternoon teas, dinner parties, private functions and wedding parties in our guest sitting room and dining room.
The small garden has a south facing terrace where guests can sit out in the summer and enjoy a pot of tea, a glass of Pimms or Prosecco.
