My impression that it's been like this for a very long time now.(No customisation) You might need to use the phone to make changes (if allowed) for Australian shipments.I miss the days when you could customise on their website.I've looked at this as laptop as well, but according to dell i can't get an i7 16GB RAM in a full HD.Only available in the UHD, which i don't want (glare etc).Disappointing, as it would be a good laptop i think. My 2nd option was the 15" quad core (skylake) with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, but was hoping to be able to customise to the larger battery for longer battery life – not an option either.
2 technician visits and the screen still flickers randomly. I wonder how much extra battery life kaby lake gives the touch screen model.
The wireless drop out issues appear to have been fixed though. Various threads seem to put it at 6hrs when installing software, 11 when more idle.
It's a shame about the customisation, i don't want a the glare of the gloss touch screen, but would have paid for the 16GB RAM.
Not so fussed about the SSD, as from what I can understand, it can be upgraded. On the dell site there is an arrow to the right of the available configurations that will bring up the additional ones (there are 6 I believe).
One of them has 16GB of RAM but you also have to get the largest SSD and touch display. Does this model have soldered RAM or an available slot to upgrade it?
I'm looking to replace an Asus UX303 Zenbook due to crappy hinge, and an abysmal track pad for web browsing....
